The course is co-taught by teacher Xie Wenru from the Performing Arts Department, Colin Chiron from the History Department, and Xu Tingwei from the Civics Department. Through process drama, a blend of reality and fiction is used to construct the story of a Taoyuan High School teacher who suffered human rights persecution after the war. "Li Wenliang" story, an interactive drama teaching strategy that combines education and drama activities, and leads students to understand the white terror human rights issues from a historical and civic perspective, and to understand the choices and responsibilities experienced by individuals in life experience.
At the beginning, Teacher Qilong was motivated by the incident of alumni returning to school during the school anniversary. What were the objects that the elderly alumni took back? Through group discussions, students in each group were asked to speculate and share what kind of person they thought the owner was. Teacher Qilong guided the students to try to use the existing objects in front of them to connect the stories of the owners. Teacher Wen Ru then used narration and mime to let the students perform the contents of the owner's diary, further connecting the relationship between the object and the diary and integrating the plot of the story: This is the life story of Taoyuan High School teacher "Li Wenliang" . After understanding the complete plot, Teacher Tingwei asked the students to write down their speculations about Teacher Li's personality and other people's opinions on a poster with a human figure, and guided the students to think about what is the so-called "justice"? What choices do you make when faced with social injustice? What are the responsibilities? For this group of senior high school students, this is the best question to ask before they are about to enter a new stage.
During the course, the three teachers showed good understanding and familiarity with the course, and guided students to think from time to time. It can be seen that the three teachers from different subjects have a solid preparation process and actually developed a wonderful and topic-integrated course. A cross-disciplinary aesthetic course.
