The first Taipei session of the 108th Seed School Oath-taking Ceremony and Enhancing Training was officially launched last Friday (9/6) at Taipei City University! The morning kicked off with a performance by the recorder team of Taipei Renai Elementary School, one of the seed schools in this period, and invited the deputy director of the Department of Teacher Training and Art Education of the Ministry of Education Li Yujuan and the project host Zhao Huiling School of the National Taiwan Normal University School of the Arts. A long welcome speech was delivered, and a cooperation certificate was awarded to each participating school and a book donation ceremony was held to give encouragement and expectations to the teachers of the participating schools.
Then the project host, Dean Zhao Huiling, co-host Professor Huang Chunmin, and co-host Associate Professor Li Qichang introduced the concepts and content of the "Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Education Excellence Pilot Project", the connotation and application of the course modules, and Implementation funds and schedule descriptions allow seed school partners to have a deeper understanding of the plan.
In the afternoon, the activity started with a teacher empowerment training workshop. The first session was curriculum design and practice. In the elementary school stage, teacher Rao Yongting from the National Science and Industrial Park Experimental High School was invited to share how to integrate Chinese, nature, performing arts, music, visual arts, etc. The course leads students to understand and feel the ocean; at the intermediate stage, Chen Yingru, the academic director of Taipei Municipal Wuchang Junior High School who has long participated in this project, demonstrates how to integrate life science and technology, music and physics and chemistry courses by making a piano.
In the second energy-enhancing workshop for elementary school students, Assistant Professor Lai Yiwei from the Department of Electrical Engineering of National Taiwan Normal University analyzed the concepts of numbers and geometry contained in world-famous paintings from a mathematical perspective and demonstrated the curriculum connection between mathematics and art; for the secondary school students, Taiwan Professor Hong Rongzhao, the host of the Digital Game Learning Laboratory of Normal University, takes educational digital games as the theme and integrates learning theory and game design applications through APP and VR experiences.
At the end of the event, representatives from the seed schools and members of the teacher training university were arranged to get to know and communicate with each other, and a comprehensive discussion was held between the program host and the guests. The event was a perfect conclusion to the experience sharing and consensus building.
Next, on September 20th and 27th, there will be two swearing-in meetings and energy-enhancing studies at the Dadun Cultural Center in Taichung City and the National Kaohsiung Normal University. We look forward to connecting the power of seed schools and teacher training universities across the country, and will cross-domain Aesthetic education is firmly rooted and sprouting in various subject areas, creating a new look for education in Taiwan!
