The Ministry of Education's 110th Academic Year Cross-Domain Aesthetic Outstanding School Award Ceremony

The Ministry of Education's cross-field aesthetic education excellence pilot program conducts the selection of outstanding schools for the 110th academic year. The courses of 161 cooperative schools across Taiwan went through rigorous three stages of preliminary review, re-examination and final review. In the end, 35 schools from 19 counties and cities won the award. A grand award ceremony was held today (21st) in the auditorium of National Taiwan Normal University. Deputy Director Wang Shujuan of the Department of Teacher Training and Art Education of the Ministry of Education awarded the honor of certificates and prizes to outstanding schools.

The ceremony kicked off with the "Cross-Domain Aesthetics Learning Experience Video", followed by speeches by Deputy Director-General Wang Shujuan and Chief Host of the Cross-Domain Aesthetics Project, Professor Zhao Huiling of National Taiwan Normal University, offering support and encouragement to outstanding seed schools, and continued to award " Cross-domain Aesthetics Pioneer Award", "Cross-domain Aesthetics Excellence Award" and "Cross-domain Aesthetics Sail Award" are awarded in three categories to commend outstanding schools for their commitment to developing and implementing cross-domain aesthetic courses, with art as the core, supporting better learning, and Integrating aesthetics into other subject areas, cultivating students' aesthetic literacy and setting a model for cross-field aesthetic education.

Deputy Director Wang said that since the cross-disciplinary aesthetic education project was launched in 2013, after 9 years of hard work, a total of 926 schools have participated and a total of 1,251 cross-disciplinary aesthetic courses have been developed, which shows that each school has attached great importance to cross-disciplinary aesthetic education. The attention and efforts have gradually blossomed and shown good results. It is hoped that teachers from all walks of life can continue to cultivate aesthetic education, from students, teachers, schools to communities, gradually spread aesthetic experience in points, lines and planes, while connecting families, schools and society. Deeply cultivate aesthetic literacy.

In addition to recognizing the teaching contributions of cross-disciplinary aesthetic teachers, the ceremony also invited four award-winning schools across different learning stages and fields to share their experience in promoting cross-disciplinary aesthetic courses. It is hoped that through a successful cross-disciplinary teacher community and inter-disciplinary courses, Exchange experiences to bring into full play the role of model learning and professional growth. Teacher Zhan Yupu from Guobei Education Dashi explained how to drive the development of the whole school or even other schools through professional dialogue, mutual learning and preparation through cross-disciplinary teacher communities through the cross-year joint learning course that integrates mathematics, nature and art. Regional aesthetic education; Kinmen Elementary School leader Yu Wanqi, who has been in Kinmen for many years, uses art to integrate marine education, gender equality, human rights education, mathematics, Chinese, and comprehensive activities into a multi-topic cross-disciplinary curriculum, with campus interviews, community walks, and beach cleaning to the sea. Waste creation subtly cultivates children's empathy and enhances community awareness; Kaohsiung National Junior High School shared the "Animal Rhapsody" series of courses that combines music and environmental issues; finally, Taoyuan High School shared how to prepare across schools and subjects to construct A local cross-regional aesthetic course module that integrates the history of white terror and human rights issues and combines performing arts.

In order to continue the benefits of the ceremony and deepen and enrich the perspectives of in-service and pre-service teachers in curriculum design and teaching, a series of cross-disciplinary aesthetic enhancement workshops were planned in the afternoon, covering the aesthetic practice of traditional bamboo crafts, with "Understanding Song" Conduct inspirational courses on drama creation on issues of transformational justice and human rights, as well as a multi-media experiential creation workshop to analyze one's own through phenomenon-oriented art therapy, with the aim of enabling participants to acquire innovative teaching strategies in the diverse workshops, and A new spark of cross-domain beauty courses!

This award ceremony and empowerment training not only provided a communication and learning platform for partner schools, pre-service teachers and the cross-field aesthetic education excellence pilot project team, but also condensed the aesthetic consensus of teachers from partner schools.
