On August 18, 2011, the "111th Annual Penghu County Teacher Enhancing Study─Cross-regional Life: Community Handmade Soap & Penghu Solar Terms, Folk Food and Culture Experience Tour" was held at the National Penghu University of Science and Technology.

The planning team, Associate Professor Chen Yunwen, Professor Li Qichang, and Associate Professor Wang Jing of the General Education Center of the National Penghu University of Science and Technology provided assistance and guidance, making the study activities successfully completed.

In the morning, teacher Tang Huiwen from Shifen Studio led the teachers to make and experience handmade soaps. From the process of oil preparation, soap processing and creation, they experienced the integration of design concepts between science and engineering experiments and aesthetic art courses. In the afternoon, we moved to Huxi Village, where teacher Gao Shize explained local festivals, weddings and temple celebrations in Penghu, and experienced making fried dates, imitation turtles and sugar lion towers. In the evening, experience Penghu's winter solstice folk delicacies at the ancient house of Nanliao community, including chicken and hen dogs, vegetable cocoons, and a country-style dinner cooked by grandma herself.

Finally, under the leadership of Associate Professor Li Qichang, they walked out of Nanliao Community in the gentle evening breeze, ending a day of intensive study courses.
