Thoughts and feedback:
This workshop shared the process of being a resident. Before applying for the project, I had a preliminary understanding of the local resident environment and had different creative ideas on how to present the work. This time the work is set next to a paddy field, and concepts such as a moonlit night, the Grave of Fireflies, and the Earth God’s walking stick are integrated into the work. In addition, it also accompanies local children to create visual persistence animation methods, allowing children to draw local beliefs and scenery on longan wood discs, becoming part of the installation art.
As for the three-dimensional work itself, it incorporates local materials, such as longan wood, bamboo, etc., and also integrates traditional farmhouse concepts of praying for a good harvest, such as the earth god crutches. What enriches the work is the creative process and the feelings of local residents. Human touch, local children’s understanding and identification with local culture. Then the children from Longshui Community used simple stop-motion animation to complete a 10-second animated short film in 3 hours.
The final result report also breaks away from the ordinary written presentation, but records each creative process and the experience of local life in the form of postcards, and shares them with local residents through postcards.
