The two-day and one-night Chuanyi cross-border aesthetic course development workshop concluded successfully at the Yilan Chuanyi Center. This event thanks the program hosts Professor Zhao Huiling, Professor Huang Chunmin, Professor Gao Zhenfeng and Professor Chen Yunwen for their leadership, as well as a group of teachers from all over Taiwan, for jointly creating a teacher training activity that stimulates creativity and cross-border dialogue.

During the study on August 10th and 11th, the connotation of traditional crafts and cross-domain aesthetic courses was explored, and professional skills and cross-domain module knowledge were fully acquired. During the study process, six groups of traditional craft cross-field aesthetic course cases were born one after another. Each case contains the practical experience and teaching creativity of the participating teachers, showing rich and colorful cross-field course thinking. Not only that, in this activity, each student personally produced unique works. These works are not only the result of learning craft skills, but also a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and themselves. The students’ 100% affirmation in the feedback questionnaire fully demonstrated the success of the event and the satisfaction of the participants. It is worth mentioning that the three craftsmen also expressed how deeply moved they were after the event and spoke highly of the teachers’ commitment and enthusiasm.

This workshop is not only a skill inheritance for teachers, but also a cross-field communication platform. The interaction and dialogue between craftsmen and teachers have allowed educators in various fields to establish deep friendships and become incomparable partners. By actually participating in the process of traditional crafts, teachers not only learned the skills, but also deeply felt the cultural significance and environmental context behind each craft. This integrated aesthetic literacy will surely bring more inspiration and innovation to teachers. I believe that the impact of this event will continue to ferment in future teaching practices, bringing more possibilities to students.
