On January 16, 2015, a public observation class on "Shuangyong Elementary School Public Art" was held at Shuangyong Elementary School, and teachers Chunmin and Shi Lanmei were invited to provide guidance. After the merger of Yongchun and Yongji Elementary Schools, the two schools were renamed Shuangyong Elementary School. The first issue facing the merger was the planning and reconstruction of the school building. Art teacher Yang Xiujun took this opportunity to design the "Public Art with Artistic Thinking" course to lead students to think about what public art is and how it relates to their own lives.

This course is combined with Mandarin classes and taught in a bilingual format. Teachers lead fifth grade students to visit public art works at Nangang, Kunyang, and Houshanpi MRT stations. Students write their thoughts in the form of short essays, and then go to the art course to guide students to feel the feelings that public art brings to them by appreciating the world's most unique public art videos. Then different places in the Shuangyong Elementary School campus are randomly selected to draw and create public art paintings, and connect four-character phrases to combine the works.

In the future, students’ works will be truly restored on campus, rather than just talk on paper. Using design thinking, students will think about the connection and relationship between their works and the school. It will also allow students to have different life and emotional connections through understanding the community and contributing to the community in this way.
