Kinmen County's cross-disciplinary aesthetics "Beauty in Temple. Numbers"

This semester at Zhongzheng Elementary School in Kinmen County, under the leadership of Teacher Li Qichang from National Taiwan University of Arts, Teacher Zeng Yiren from National Taiwan University, and Teacher Rong Fangjie from Tsinghua University, the fourth-grade group conducted the "Chinese American Mathematics" course.

Under the leadership of Teacher Zeng and Teacher Rong, the course "Mathematics in the Temple" is based on the idea that "historic sites are classrooms" and allows the architectural objects in the historical sites to become "teaching aids". In addition to implementing the expectations and plans for children's learning in life situations in the new curriculum. At the same time, it is also paired with cross-field courses to allow children to naturally improve their aesthetic literacy.
The curriculum structure of "Ancestral Beauty and Mathematics" uses the floor tiles of Zhuzi Temple as the key link between the curriculum, and combines the area and perimeter of Unit 8 of the fourth-grade mathematics field with the visual aesthetic elements of neatness and regularity. During the course, the fourth-grade students of Zhongzheng Elementary School first completed a pilot video in the performing arts class under the leadership of teacher Li Qichang to guide the children in creative thinking. Then, take the paper pieces used by children to simulate the floor tiles, and use collage techniques to simulate the laying method. In the end, every child created a very beautiful ground!
