National Kaohsiung Normal University was established in the 43rd year of the Republic of China. In the 56th year of the Republic of China, in conjunction with the implementation of the nine-year national education policy and the training of sound teachers for secondary schools, the "Kaohsiung Provincial Normal College" was established with three departments: Chinese, English, and Mathematics. In the 69th year of the Republic of China, it was restructured into the "National Kaohsiung Normal College" College" was upgraded to "National Kaohsiung Normal University" in 1978, and its organizational scale was expanded into the School of Education, the School of Science Education (renamed the School of Science in 1982), and the School of Humanities Education (renamed the School of Liberal Arts in 1986). At the same time, Kaohsiung Yan Nest opened a second campus. In 1992, the College of Science and Technology and the College of Art were established, becoming a university with five colleges. In addition, it has a continuing education college, which provides a complete training pipeline for adults and continuing education, and has a good reputation in southern Taiwan.
