The "Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Education Experimental Curriculum Development Project" commissioned by the Ministry of Education and implemented by National Taiwan Normal University is part of the Ministry of Education's mid- to long-term plan for aesthetic education. Zhu Nanxian, director-general secretary of the Ministry of Education, said in his speech that aesthetic education is a core competency that students in the 21st century should possess. In the next five years, the mid-term plan for aesthetic education will continue to strengthen students' aesthetic literacy.

Zhu Nanxian also explained to cross-field aesthetic education scholars in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia that in the past five years, the Ministry of Education has allocated 12 million US dollars (approximately NT$4 billion) to promote aesthetic education in various forms, including seminars, workshops, and The school curriculum design hopes to increase international exchanges in the future, introduce more international information on aesthetic education, and help Taiwan develop better practices in developing aesthetic literacy.
