Dazhong Elementary School is a seed school with deep roots in the arts in Taoyuan City, and has won the 10th Arts Education Contribution Award from the Ministry of Education. In order to respond to the Ministry of Education's third medium- and long-term plan for aesthetic education to strengthen international aesthetic exchanges, we specially invited French comic writer Christopher Boyd to teach at the school. The artist has published comic picture books in France to care for children with reading difficulties, and has experience teaching in many schools in Taiwan.

The cartoonist's art teaching this time also includes international education issues. At the beginning of the class, Chris used slides to introduce France's attractions and food, including the European way of greeting, which is kissing on the cheek. He was very considerate and used a puppet to demonstrate how to touch the face, and even told the students that Nanfa’s enthusiasm could be extended to three times.

French cartoonists also gave interesting character sketching lessons in class. In order to make the students believe in the teacher's ability, he first asked a classmate to sit down as a model, and selected two chalks of different colors, and used his left and right hands at the same time to draw the student's frontal portrait on the blackboard. This method requires a certain level of sketching skills, and can also quickly attract students' attention and interest. When the portrait is completed on the blackboard, the work quickly presents the charm of the student model, and the clever use of two colors also adds a sense of light and three-dimensionality to the work.

Before the children imitated Chris in drawing two-color portraits, Chris also led the students in some pen warming activities on the blackboard. For example, use your left and right hands to draw basic shapes such as circles, triangles, squares, stars, and small animals such as kittens. Once students have more confidence and ability, have them sit opposite each other and begin tracing their portraits.

The teaching of French artists has successfully aroused students' desire to learn. Although the class focuses on technical training, it is not boring. The whole class can be conducted in a relaxed atmosphere like a game, allowing children to enjoy the creative process. Cartoonist Chris also shared his hand-drawn sketchbook with school teachers. Chris's hand-painted notebook records his experiences in Taiwan with his brush. Dazhong Elementary School Principal Qiu Chuangxuan said that the cartoonist's perspective and way of recording things can be said to be a practice of aesthetic life, which is worth learning for children. He also hopes that the artists' admission to the school will bring students a broader perspective and stimulate their desire to explore the world in the future.
