In order to deepen cross-disciplinary aesthetic education, the Ministry of Education's "Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Education Excellence Pilot Project" held the "113th Academic Year Taitung Area Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Education Learning Community and Community Organization Activities" at Xinyuan Elementary School in Taitung City, inviting teachers and teacher training committee members from many partner schools in Taitung to discuss how to promote educational innovation through lesson presentation, lesson observation, and discussion and community exchanges.
The event was hosted by Xinyuan Elementary School Principal Gao Jinqin, and project co-host National Taiwan University of Arts Professor Li Qichang, co-teacher training committee member National Taitung University Professor Guo Mei-nian, Director He Yu-zhen and Professor Zhang Fu-ming were present to provide guidance and witness the achievements and future prospects of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education.
The activity began with a lesson presentation and teaching demonstration by Cai Meijuan, the principal of Dawangguo Primary School. The theme of the course was "Find the Beauty". Through observing the campus, students were guided to use their five senses to explore the beauty in life. Students take photos of the beautiful scenes on campus, write down their feelings and share them. Director Cai Meijuan further guided the students to discuss "What is beauty?" and constructed an understanding of beauty from multiple aspects such as the beauty of nature, the beauty of culture and art, visual beauty and humanistic beauty.
Then, creative body activities were arranged in the class, inviting students to simulate the postures of flowers blooming and fish swimming leisurely in the fish tank, inspiring students to express their imagination through their bodies. Then they entered the group collaboration stage, where students posed their bodies to compose the pictures, and one of the students acted as a photographer to take the photos and upload them, strengthening their collective creative and aesthetic interpretation abilities. After the class observation, the participating professors and teachers discussed the class and exchanged course design concepts, student reactions and aesthetic teaching experiences.
The group discussion then began, with teachers from 10 schools, including National Taitung High School, Dawu Elementary School, Dawangguo Elementary School, Xinyuan Elementary School, Private Yuren High School, Chihshang Junior High School, Malan Elementary School, Fengrong Elementary School, Dongda Elementary School, and Wulu Elementary School, sharing their experiences in promoting cross-disciplinary aesthetic courses. Teachers exchanged ideas on curriculum design and teaching experiences, and explored future collaboration opportunities and teaching inspirations.
This event not only provides a professional growth platform for teachers, but also successfully connects local educational resources, injecting new impetus into the promotion of cross-field aesthetic education. In the future, the cross-disciplinary aesthetic education team will continue to deepen cooperation with schools in various regions, encourage more teachers to invest in aesthetic education, help students develop diverse expressions and creativity, and achieve deep integration and sustainable development of education.
