The mid-term implementation exchange and sharing meeting of the 113th academic year's Kinmen County Cooperative Schools was successfully held at the Multi-Year Elementary School in Jinhu Town, Kinmen County a few days ago. The conference was co-organized by the Kinmen County Government's Education Department and the Ministry of Education's Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Excellence Program team, and co-organized by the National Primary School for many years. They worked together to promote cross-disciplinary aesthetic education, promote exchanges and teaching innovations between schools, and deepen the promotion of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education through experience exchange and results sharing, injecting more innovation and aesthetic thinking into the education field.
This exchange and sharing session invited many Kinmen experts and scholars and members of the Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Excellence Program to participate, including Professor Li Qichang, Professor Chen Chundi, and Associate Professor Chen Yunwen, co-hosts of the Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Excellence Program, as well as Director Li Jintan of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Kinmen University, Lecturer Lin Yanjun who represented the team of Associate Professor Zeng Yiren of the Department of Architecture of Kinmen University, and Principal Zhang Zhimeng of the National Primary School for many years, to witness the teaching achievements and promotion experience of the cooperative schools in Kinmen County. Section Chief Zhou Xiangmin and his staff from the Education Department of Kinmen County Government attended the event, showing concern for the promotion of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education and giving it high praise.
The meeting opened with a speech by the project team, emphasizing the importance of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education and thanking the active participation and efforts of the partner schools in Kinmen County. Afterwards, Director Xu Fanying from Kinmen County Jinning Elementary and Middle School shared the course results, detailing how the school combines aesthetics and subject knowledge to create diverse learning situations. Jinning Elementary and Middle School took "The Fragrant Clues of the Island - Creation of the Scent of Autumn in Kinmen" as the theme, leading students to stroll through the streets of Kinmen and visit special places such as Chinese medicine stores, using Kinmen's unique autumn scent to inspire students' creative inspiration. The director further shared that through the application of mathematical concepts in the course, students can learn how to apply mathematical rules to the actual creation of weaving. This learning process allows students to experience the beauty of life through hands-on practice while also connecting it with subject knowledge.
Next, Yu Wanqi, the head of the National Primary School in Jinhu Town, Kinmen County, shared the school’s specific practices in promoting cross-disciplinary aesthetic education. With the theme of "Seeing the Multifaceted Points", Group Leader Wan Qi shared how the new characters in "Brain Teasers 2" can help students clearly perceive their own emotional changes, especially the identification of emotions such as A Jiao and A Fei. In addition, Team Leader Wan Qi cleverly combined Taiwan's traditional talisman culture to lead students to create their own "blessing spells" and use waste paper to create hand-copied paper, incorporating artistic beauty into the works. Through this process, students can experience cultural heritage through hands-on creation and practice SEL social emotional learning - self-care and emotional connection with others.
Through the exchange of these practical experiences, participants not only gained a deep understanding of the implementation strategies of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education, but also jointly explored the possibilities for future development, promoting a closer integration of aesthetic education with teaching in various disciplines.
At the end of the event, participants held talks and discussions to exchange experiences and spark more innovative teaching. The Ministry of Education's Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Excellence Program team stated that it will continue to cooperate with schools across the country in the future to promote more diverse and in-depth aesthetic education, allowing students to feel and understand beauty in their learning, and cultivate cross-domain thinking and creativity.
This exchange and sharing session is not only an acceptance of interim results, but also lays a solid foundation for future teaching innovation. Through multi-party cooperation, we hope to continue to promote cross-disciplinary aesthetic education, achieve deep integration between various disciplines, open up new horizons for education, and allow more students to experience the unlimited possibilities of creativity and learning.
