[Course Highlights] Pengnan Junior High School-Shahua Fishing Village

Learn geometry by pushing sand and painting, and discover the beautiful new world of mathematics!

"Creating on the beach must have the right time, place and people." The teacher said that in addition to using plastic ropes and iron rakes as compasses, the tide must also be accurately calculated. In just 90 minutes of low tide, students can complete it in teamwork, even beforehand. I simulated it twice in school.

The "Sand Painting Art Creation" cross-disciplinary course was jointly developed by Pengnan Junior High School visual art teacher Wang Zixiang and mathematics teacher Zheng Weijie. Let students use geometric principles to outline the local characteristics of Penang.

"In order to draw patterns, students work hard to understand mathematical principles." Through cross-field, mathematics is no longer just about solving problems and calculations. In addition to increasing learning motivation, more importantly, it allows students to experience how to apply mathematics in daily life. .

Developing potential in diversity, allowing children to experience the infinite possibilities of learning, and then find a path they like is the original intention of education.
