Since its launch in 2013, the "Ministry of Education's Cross-disciplinary Aesthetic Education Excellence Pilot Project" has continued to strive to integrate artistic beauty into non-art subjects, deepen students' understanding of social and international issues, and strengthen their sense of responsibility for civil society. Through cross-disciplinary curriculum design, students are guided to understand contemporary issues in a flexible way. Today is the "World Hello Day" on November 21st. This holiday was created in 1973 due to the international conflict between Egypt and Israel. By simply saying "Hello", people are reminded to replace it with friendly communication. Contradictions are advocated to be resolved with respect and understanding.

The concepts of peace and tolerance conveyed by "World Hello Day" are consistent with the goals of the cross-disciplinary aesthetic education project. Many partner schools in the project have integrated issues such as peace and justice into the curriculum, such as Qingshan Junior High School in New Taipei City "Chagall's "Jewish" Love", this course takes the life of Jewish artist Marc Chagall as the theme, allowing students to understand the history of persecution of Jews during World War II. In order to let students experience it more deeply, the performing arts teacher also arranged a concentration camp mime performance. Through silent mime performances, students can personally experience and reflect on the conflict between morality and reality.

Students say that such courses truly reveal historical truths and allow them to understand the significance of historical events to modern life, not just distant news. Teachers at the school also discovered through the co-preparation community that some classes use reading classes to share texts such as "Annie's Diary" or "The Boy in Stripes" before the course begins. This accumulation of reading allows students to discuss It resonates more with you when creating. From group works to mime performances, students' depth of feelings and thinking has improved significantly, and they are able to ask more in-depth questions in class. Through connections with social and language fields, the course not only enhances students' understanding of peace and justice, but also inspires them to think from multiple perspectives.

In addition, the "Let's Have an Animal Party" course at Fuxing Junior High School in Yilan County is based on George Orwell's classic satirical novel "Animal Farm" and focuses on the core issues of "people and others" and "care" . The course allows students to explore in depth important issues such as "respect, equality, and anti-bullying" through cross-disciplinary collaboration between performing arts, visual arts, and English. The students not only adapted the drama based on the plot of "Animal Farm" to reflect on their own growth, but also produced three-dimensional scenes to reproduce scenes from the text. Finally, the learning results were made into an anti-bullying promotional video to convey the value of tolerance and respect.

This year’s plan also has partner schools using the theme of “refugees” one after another. In the face of global turmoil, war and refugee issues have become increasingly serious. Teachers hope that through refugee-themed aesthetic courses, students can understand the plight of the world’s refugees and learn about them in the learning process. , to inspire their concern and responsibility for global issues.

The Ministry of Education stated that through the promotion of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education projects, students not only gain knowledge, but also gain emotional and moral enlightenment. The artistic creation, performance, and discussion in the course encourage students to understand diverse issues from different perspectives, cultivate a deep sense of empathy and social responsibility, and expand the depth and breadth of aesthetics and art education.

By advocating peace and tolerance on a day like "World Hello Day", we are more convinced that aesthetic education is not only about the feeling of beauty, but also a bridge that promotes understanding, tolerance and peace. It is expected that cross-field aesthetic education can continue to cultivate the next generation with a global vision and diverse values, allowing students to practice these values in daily life and promote a harmonious and co-prosperous society.
