The "Cross-field Aesthetic Education Excellence Pilot Project", a project promoted by the Ministry of Education in the medium and long term (113-117 years) of aesthetic education, has been committed to the combination of art and non-art subjects since its launch in 103. Through the introduction of cross-domain aesthetic courses and diverse topics, students' learning process will be more profound, thereby enhancing their humanistic qualities and awareness of social responsibility. December 10th every year is World Human Rights Day. Through cross-disciplinary courses that combine artistic beauty and human rights issues, students not only understand the meaning behind historical events, but also internalize a profound understanding of human rights through situational experience and role play. Cognition, further developing empathy and social engagement.
World Human Rights Day commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. Human rights education is one of the important topics in the 108 curriculum. Taoyuan Municipal Taoyuan High School's interdisciplinary aesthetic course uses art as a carrier. The school implements the "Approaching Humanity with Art" interdisciplinary aesthetic course. "Art" represents artistic creation, while "Approaching Humanity" represents the combination of human nature and interpersonal relationships. Through Performing arts combine history, geography, citizenship, Chinese and other subjects to guide students to understand the diversity of life and the complexity of society while exploring stories.
Behind the promotion of this course is the years of efforts of the cross-school teacher community "Action Love Class Heart", and cross-school cooperation with teachers from Hsinchu High School, Dahu Agricultural and Industrial School and other schools. Through online discussions and on-site demonstrations, we jointly design courses with the same structure but unique features, allowing students to establish deep connections with diverse topics through art.
The history teacher of Taoyuan High School uses the "Taogao Historical Illustrated Book" to combine the school's unique character stories to arouse students' interest in school history and the friendship between teachers and students. Students jointly opened a time capsule that had been sealed for 50 years and explored bits and pieces of past life from the old objects and photos left behind. By understanding the characteristics of the objects and connecting them with the texts of the time, one can gradually understand the connection and significance of the objects and the times. At the same time, sounds and body movements are also used to interpret the emotions and stories in the texts, and to reflect on the experiences and choices in life.
In addition, teachers also use the Taoyuan map to inspire students' understanding of the place, combined with watching videos to arouse students' concern for local issues; through sociometric analysis, they observe the relationship between residence and transportation to school, and further think about the community. A personal connection. What's more special is that the course also guides students to start from the perspective of "disappeared" or "forgotten" things, through role play or the interpretation of historical figures, to feel the context of the situation at that time, and to get closer to historical events and understand geography. The impact of environmental changes on life.
The Ministry of Education stated that developing courses related to human rights issues not only allows the concept of aesthetic education to take root in the education scene, but also creates new possibilities for cross-field teaching on different issues. In the future, we hope that such courses can be extended to more schools, even across counties and cities, through community cooperation and experience sharing, so that more students can benefit from this rich and diverse learning model.
