The "2024 Ministry of Education's International Visit for Aesthetic Education Teachers" experience exchange and sharing meeting was successfully held on February 7, 2025. Six visiting teacher representatives shared their experiences and insights in Spain. Professor Li Qichang said that this year, the "one country, two groups" format was tried for the first time, allowing visiting teachers toMadridandBarcelonaConduct an in-depth tour and jointly develop courses during the visit, just like brewing wine, which continues to ferment.
This sharing session will focus on three major themes:School visits, art and cultural venues, and daily aesthetics.
Teacher Yu Xiulan mentioned humorously: "The secret to an unforgettable beauty at a glance lies in the simplest 'neatness'!" She pointed out that cleanliness is the foundation of beauty. A tidy environment can create an orderly and uncluttered visual beauty. After professional care, there are beautiful scenery everywhere. Teacher Zhong Yuying exclaimed: "This visit is an experience that money can't buy!" She believes that it is particularly valuable to be able to visit the campus in depth and directly observe the Spanish education system as well as the multi-angle views of teachers, parents and students on education.
Teacher Qiu Yujun shared his observations and feelings about Catalan modernist architecture. He observed that these buildings emphasize local characteristics and uniqueness, and their business operation model can serve as a reference for promoting Taiwan's traditional architecture. Teacher Zhang Ciwei said that visiting the art museum is like a journey through time and space, where she can meet and communicate with artists through their works in a modern space. The museum’s display design also inspired her teaching methods after returning to China.
In sharing daily aesthetics, teachers Wang Yiren and Zhang Shizong used photos to string together a video, showing the Spanish cities full of colors, history, stories and surprises. Whether it is the little monster on the church drain or the exquisite window displays on the street corners, they all show the local people's attention to the aesthetics of life and make people nostalgic.
Through this visit, the teachers witnessed the Spanish schools’ passion for education and their careful management of the campus environment. The local practice of imparting knowledge with a solid foundation of handcraft, compared to the current trend in Taiwan that emphasizes technology and tablet-based teaching, makes one reflect: How can one delve into the essence of art education by starting from life? Professor Lin Xiaoyu said with deep emotion: "One thing Spain taught me is to focus on the essence."
Although the visit plan covered the same route, the two teams had different observations and feelings, which once again confirmed the diversity and richness of aesthetic education. Thanks to all the visiting teachers for jointly piecing together this wonderful chapter of the integration of culture and education.
