1. "Northwest Rain" cross-domain learning course
Based on the premise of expanding the multi-sensory experience of the Northwest Rain text in Chinese, although students rarely come into contact with farm life, they still have practical experience of weather changes, especially from September to October 2024, when it rains frequently in Pingtung and storms or thunder and lightning described in the text often occur. Therefore, they can enhance their awareness of natural scenes through creation. In addition, in the process of expressing text descriptions through images, students can deepen their impression of the words used to enhance their understanding of the article. The depiction of wind, rain, mountains, etc. can correct the conceptual drawing methods that are still in kindergarten and improve observation skills. At the same time, through the analysis of principles by physics and chemistry teachers, students can better understand the visual appearance of natural landscapes. Finally, through the collaboration of English teachers, students can understand the differences in the description of climate in different cultures, so that students can understand that the core of bilingual teaching is not translation, but understanding different cultural expressions in the world.
II. Investigation of the historic district in the center of Chaozhou Town
I have led students to visit communities before, but this semester I tried to reinterpret the three aspects of "development of settlements in the Qing Dynasty, administrative offices under Japanese rule, and industrial development under Japanese rule", and deliberately emphasized the characteristics of each to enhance students' specific understanding of Chaozhou. At the same time, I added irregular open-ended questions during the process. The focus was not on confirming students' memory of the teacher's lectures but on encouraging students to use their own unique perspectives.
