Tainan City Beimen High School─My Little Taiwan Dollar Big Design
In the past, I asked the students in the physical education class to carry out the activity of "changing the national flag" on the issue of New Zealand's referendum on a new national flag. It turned out that the students generally only identified with Taiwan as "101 and breast milk". This made the author worried and thought about the students. Under the baptism of mass media reading and listening, what else can we identify with Taiwan besides political symbols such as the national flag, national flower, and founding father? However, the layout of the national flag is not suitable for too many patterns. Later, I saw a teacher from Fengxin High School asking art class students to transform Taiwanese banknotes with the theme of Taiwanese artists, so the idea of collaborating with the geography department was triggered.
Therefore, in conjunction with Chapter 7 of the Southern Edition geography textbook (2) used this semester, "What is Taiwan's unique charm?" I hope students will not only "memorize" the content of the textbook, but also through activities such as reporting and designing banknotes, Enhance local understanding and identification.
The geography teacher first conducted this unit course and mentioned in the course the case of New Zealand soliciting the design of a new national flag. The art class introduces banknotes from various countries and asks students to summarize and discover the differences between them and Taiwanese banknotes, which encourages students to think about the local symbols that appear on banknotes and generate further recognition or reflection.
Each group completes a Taiwanese banknote (front and back), which must include a Taiwanese celebrity (male and female, from various fields), a national park scenic spot, and at least one species unique to Taiwan. The group also completed a small poster explaining the features and creative concept of the work. And let other students vote for outstanding works.
