Taitung City Xinmin High School—Grey Stone-Wave Absorbing Block Aesthetics

Taking the wave-absorbing blocks on Taiwan's coastline as an idea, the negative impression of wave-absorbing blocks is transformed into another concept of protective stone ground.
Students discover the beauty of Taiwan's local characteristics, and through observation, reinterpret and create design objects, think about what kind of form of beauty, how to reinterpret design in a simple, concise and creative way, and transform the ugly but indispensable wave-absorbing blocks on Taiwan's coast Beautification allows the objects in daily life to present the beauty of local culture. Through the process of brainstorming and hands-on experimentation, students can learn design to make life more full of island beauty. Echoing the core competencies of the 12-year national education, "Have the ability to plan and execute plans, explore and develop diverse professional knowledge, enrich life experience, and exert an innovative spirit to respond to social changes and enhance personal flexibility and adaptability."
