Taking humanities education as the goal and cross-domain collaboration as a bridge, we build "aesthetic abilities" that students take with them. The purpose of humanistic education is to equip students with humanistic literacy, which covers time, space and self-understanding. Time is the vertical axis of development, through dialogue with history, we understand the emotions, knowledge, and opinions of humans in different eras; space is the horizontal axis of development, through transnational and cross-cultural diverse human communities, we accumulate humanistic accomplishments; self-understanding and Inner exploration, by developing the self below the iceberg, reveals human nature in life.
In addition, humanistic education can be viewed through three aspects: knowledge, methods, and spirit. Knowledge means that all disciplines originate from human beings and serve human beings, so they are all humanities disciplines; the method is the emergence of different disciplines due to the groups of people with different research objects; finally, the spirit is the pursuit of truth, Good, beautiful, pragmatic, sensible and good at using knowledge. Therefore, this project aims at humanistic education and understands and cares for the nature of "human" social activities through historical context, cross-culture, and collaboration between art and life technology.
Furthermore, the main expectation of aesthetic ability is that students are expected to have a sense of life, construct aesthetic abilities, and develop aesthetic citizenship. In the process, a life-themed aesthetic course is designed through three stages: discovery, exploration, and application. In line with the context of the above-mentioned courses, this plan attempts to use the creative learning spiral, imagine, create, play, share, and reflect to design the course, and uses Mitchel Resnick (Professor of Media Lab) proposed making learning like a lifelong kindergarten, "recreating" the world through students' own eyes and hands, and understanding things through re-creation.
This plan starts with music and uses "Rain Sound Tube" as the medium. Through the connection of life situations, the rain sound tube is then implemented, and combined with the performance of drama and soundtrack, so that thinking can be seen and can be manipulated under guidance. Integrate students' understanding and care for human social activities. It is expected that the course design context of the creative learning spiral will be used to build students' aesthetic abilities and improve students' humanistic qualities under the cross-domain collaboration course history, life science and technology, music and performance.
