Nantou County Zhongxing High School – Cool Literature and English Picture Books: Vampires, Werewolves and Witches

1. This course uses English picture books as the main teaching medium and is student-centered. It mainly integrates students' reading and writing skills in teaching activities to teach students English literature appreciation and reading literacy. It also provides basic aesthetic skills and self-cultivation training to inspire students to Art representation forms such as text or picture creation, understanding of cross-field knowledge and skills, and basic comparative analysis capabilities for the representation of Chinese and Western cultures in Queer Literature/ or literary representation of the Other.

2. This semester, the course "Cool Literature" is sub-titled for "Vampires, Werewolves and Witches" in the "Fantasy Literature" category. Such themes inspire students' diverse imaginations. In addition to acquiring knowledge of Western literature, they can also focus on In terms of contextualized humanistic and artistic cultivation.

3. Picture books are a form of artistic expression of visual culture. Creators often use words and images to seemingly express individualistic views and ideas, but to convey more profound literary and artistic philosophies to the world. This course deepens students' appreciation and cultivation of literature and art through cross-reading, comparison and analysis of multiple materials such as novels and movies on similar themes.

4. This course is a cross-field co-teaching course to cultivate students' cooperative learning spirit. The teacher guides students to group into groups to learn to solve problems in various activities such as interaction, communication and thinking, and finally uses teamwork to produce products in Works of own group.
