Chiayi University, Chiayi City─The Journey of Paper

This unit takes "paper", which is used by children daily, as its theme. It guides children to use their five senses to use scientific methods to explore the properties of different paper types and actively discover "fibers". The process is carried out through group collaboration to promote children's social development. The recycled paper making activity reveals that paper can be recycled in the form of "fiber" and obtain sustainable life, conveying the concept of protecting ecological balance and cherishing materials. Use your own handmade paper to build a boat and draw up a sailing plan around the campus, connecting the campus and student works of dialogue. The creation of three-dimensional shapes of paper boat toys, team logo and painting design, and further discussions on possible extended applications are hoped to stimulate children's sense of beauty and creative imagination.
