Keelung Girls’ Middle School in Keelung City─Seeing the subtle beauty: Encountering the coral‧sea

Starting from the Quanta Youyi art exhibition special topic "Seeing the subtle beauty", 109-1 starts with "Plants-Campus Planting"; 109-2 starts with "Animals-Ocean Corals", and through the community teacher (Biology , mathematics, art subjects), and uses publication and output as practices and techniques to design cross-field art and science discussion, thinking and practical courses to achieve learning and adapt to future university studies or workplace research Required models and skills to train learning abilities such as observation, collection, organization, criticism, publication, problem solving, etc., practice the school motto of "Love, Beauty, Smile, Power", and possess vitality, action, cooperation, creativity and Five kinds of "modern female literacy" citizens with the ability to move around, such as character and strength, improve the connection with college and future life.
We hope that through this course, students can stop to observe and care about ocean issues in an island country surrounded by sea, and use "Ocean Health Indicator - Coral" to further calmly feel the beauty of the forms presented by nature. The beauty of order, and attempts to extend the thinking on the characteristics and importance of corals through museum-school cooperation, on-site restoration operation experience and observation, and awaken awareness and action to protect the ocean. Through cross-field curriculum design, we hope to stimulate professional sharing and experience connection among teachers to achieve more complete thematic learning for students.
