Pingtung County Dacheng Elementary School - Play with Nature ~ Land Art Festival

1. Originated from Dacheng
The origin of art comes from life and the instinct of life. The essence of art, "To Feel Like an Artist", is placed in the educational project to allow viewers or participants to feel that art is a medium of life or a tool for self-expression. The artists participating in this project travel through art projects as A/r/tography (artist/researcher/teacher), shifting and changing their identities through their perception and passion for art, encouraging and accompanying participants again and again to open up and feel themselves in the process of creation.
Dacheng is a mini and charming art experimental primary school. It looks small but is actually very big. The world, the four seasons, are all children’s classrooms. Here, the body is the core. Here, we build an art base to allow children to become unique living artists.
The sparks and dialogues triggered by this series of art projects will form a unique "Dacheng perspective". The team incorporates the viewpoints of this series into their creations, and what will be produced will be a new return to and reflection on "education", and the participants' awareness of art will be a stable practice of the power of education.

2. Invite artists to visit and play with nature
As you slowly inhale the breath of nature and exhale back into the earth, you will find yourself blending into the rhythm of nature. Through clever communication with the body, the pulse of the earth beneath the feet penetrates the body's sensory perception with every breath, and the strokes of color, lines of movement, and arcs of imagination together weave a beautiful chapter of art.
The 2024 Art Festival is themed "Play with Nature" and invites artists to incorporate playfulness into their creations through natural elements such as "wind, wood, water, fire, and earth", connecting people and the environment through friendly behaviors, so that the creative process will naturally become the starting point of art education and then become a part of daily learning.

3. Art festivals are a means, not an end
Playing with Nature – Earth Art Festival 2024, for us, art festival is a means, not an end. We look forward to connecting heart and eye through art and nature through cross-disciplinary creation.
Through the Earth Art Festival, we will deepen the sense of beauty and art on campus and spread it to the community. Throughout the year, the festival will trigger major celebrations and course connections, linking school-based curriculum with experimental concepts. The whole village will work together to manage education and develop cross-disciplinary art curriculum modules and cases for our school.
