The shadow puppetry course is a cross-disciplinary learning experience that not only cultivates students’ artistic expression, but also promotes the development of diverse abilities through cross-disciplinary collaboration, demonstrating the novel concept of course design. Starting from the school's flexible social studies course - Ganyuan Community Survey, students collected and organized stories about their grandfather, then moved on to script writing, recitation training and puppetry techniques in the performing arts course, and then extended to the design and production of puppets and sets in the fine arts course. The music course is responsible for matching the story with exquisite music to create a more infectious performance effect. In addition, the course also incorporates teaching of Minnan dialect, and teachers are invited to guide students to accurately read the dialect lines according to the requirements of the script; in the physical education course, students learn the ergonomic posture when operating puppets to make the character's movements smoother and more realistic. It perfectly combines language, art, music, culture and sports, demonstrating the teaching concept of cross-disciplinary integration.
