Hsinchu County Zhudong High School─Environmental aesthetic restoration

In the future of aesthetic education, we are thinking about how to cultivate a group of students who will create a new era in school, participate in campus aesthetic reconstruction design, and become messengers to change the future. We look forward to many sparks being put into practice in Zhudong!

In recent years, the public has begun to pay attention to the quality of life and has high expectations for various policies and educational quality. The application of aesthetic experience by educators in aesthetic education is an indispensable part of improving public awareness. Therefore, promoting aesthetic courses and experiences, establishing a beautiful environment on campus, turning beauty into concrete experiences and actions, guiding students to discover their own beauty from life, and bringing beauty into life are important strategies to take root in aesthetic education and improve aesthetic literacy. .

In order to achieve the mission of literacy-oriented teaching in the 108 curriculum, which is to enable students to apply knowledge in their lives after learning it, we therefore value and cultivate students' cross-domain integration abilities, turning "beauty" into concrete experiences, and through " "Learning by doing" and "problem-based learning" combine aesthetic experience, natural observation, and problem solving in the campus aesthetic environment reconstruction work, so that campus repair and construction are not just simple projects, but also a creation that takes into account the natural environment, students and teachers. needs and overall visual beauty of the campus, and the school has also been transformed into a public aesthetic education field that transcends walls. Therefore, we have designed two topics as the themes of the cross-disciplinary aesthetic courses:

Topic 1: Identify environmental issues using design thinking methods

Taking our school as an example, the ecological pool next to the teaching building is surrounded by trees such as camphor trees, poinciana trees, and hinoki cypresses. Now these green trees have grown into tall forests, providing a life under the green shade that can be shared by all the teachers and students of the school. space. However, due to neglect of management and maintenance over the past year, it has become a hidden version of the disgusting facility on campus. The appearance is slightly shabby, with weeds, uneven roads, many mosquitoes, and unclean water quality. The mission this time is to transform the current campus ecology. The pool and its surrounding environment create a good environment for teachers and students to remember and enhance teacher-student interaction.

Topic 2: Show care for the environment in creative ways

Japan’s Kyoto Manga Museum, Osaka Natural History Museum, Osaka Science Museum and popular bookstores can all see Japan’s good use of illustrations and comics to integrate knowledge content in science popularization culture, and use aesthetic and experiential methods to explore physics, chemistry, and the universe. Through various display strategies such as viewing, touching, and connecting with local culture, parents and children can experience the wonders of science together and present the more rigid knowledge in another way. In several exhibitions in Taiwan such as "This, I won't take the test! Textbook Comic Graffiti Exhibition", "Unusual Cuisine", "Dark Mushrooms", etc., artists have also used humor to create animated videos, anthropomorphic comics, and interesting Presented in various creative ways such as board games, colorless dessert shops, creative handbooks, etc., it will give people a refreshing perspective. Therefore, we try to let students integrate environmental knowledge content with comics. Through the standardized process of character setting, script writing, storyboarding and drawing comics, we guide students to use comics to present the learning performance of scientific literacy through relatively rigid knowledge.
