Continuing with the seventh grade exploration of Tomioka Old Street, this course designs in-depth courses on local revitalization issues, cultivates students' ability to actively participate in public affairs, plan and take action, explores the cultural changes in Yangmei area and the increase in foreign population, and reflects students' care for their own communities through the correlation between art and life, society and history, culture and technology, community and region.
To help students understand the concepts of SDGs10, 11, and 17, with the theme of "local revitalization", we invited the Tomioka Revitalization Base "Tomitoka Youth Homecoming Cultural and Creative Center" to the campus to explain the significance and vision of cultural and creative activities. In combination with the school-based curriculum, we give students the opportunity to actually participate in social actions, gain an in-depth understanding of the planning and implementation of local revitalization activities, explore local stories from activities, interview and record old stores. In addition to gaining relevant knowledge about local revitalization, we provide students with opportunities for field investigation, interaction and practice, and cultivate students' ability to explore, create and reflect.
