This course focuses on cyanotype photography and combines the three major areas of vision, music, and language to guide students to explore Taiwan's cultural imagery through artistic creation and deepen their understanding of local characteristics and aesthetic experience.
In the visual field, students will start from the history of photography and understand the principles of light and shadow imaging through cyanotype technology. Through observation and discussion, they will explore Taiwan’s characteristics in terms of humanities, customs, geography, ecology and architecture, learn different composition techniques, capture the unique scenery that symbolizes Taiwan, and transform it into visual works rich in cultural connotations.
In the field of music, students will explore Taiwan’s local soundscape by identifying natural and man-made sounds, and record and create their own audio works, combining auditory perception with visual images, experiencing the subtle and unique sounds in the culture, and deepening their awareness and understanding of their own environment.
In the field of language, students discover Taiwan’s cultural characteristics through text reading and thinking. Inspired by cyanotype photography and sound creation, they express their feelings about nature and culture in words, creating works that are poetic and emotional.
Through cross-disciplinary learning and creation, students will construct their own "Taiwan image" through the integration of images, sounds and texts, further cultivate aesthetic literacy, and deepen their recognition and appreciation of local culture.
