The cross-disciplinary curriculum program "Seeing and Multi-Arts" in the first semester of the 113th academic year uses aesthetic creation as a medium and integrates SEL social emotional learning to lead students who are entering adolescence to see more of themselves and others in the process of exploring themselves. Through collage self-portraits, creative talisman cultural design and humorous dialogue interactions, the course allows students to be aware of their multiple perspectives in creation and communication, learn empathy and interpersonal communication, and cultivate responsible decision-making skills. We hope that children can find an outlet for their emotions in artistic beauty, learn to respect and appreciate in interpersonal interactions, and embody beauty and social care in practical actions.
This course takes Picasso's Cubist collage "Self-Portrait from the Front and Side" as the starting point. Through deconstruction and reconstruction techniques, it guides students to explore themselves, discover their own diversity, and then understand their inner emotions and thoughts. The emotional adventure learning of "Ghost Blessing Curse" and "Brain Teasers 2" guides students to practice expressing their feelings, learn to appreciate others, and think about how to express care and blessings in creative ways, thereby further cultivating empathy and communication skills through humorous dialogues. In addition, students used the digital tool "Boundless Notes" to design talismans, combining relief engraving with environmentally friendly handwritten paper techniques to blend cultural heritage with modern design. Through the contemporary interpretation of talisman art, students can understand the aesthetic value of traditional culture and extend it to daily life and interpersonal interaction.
Based on this, this course hopes to enable students to not only design reminders and blessings for themselves through the practical value of cross-domain aesthetic actions, but also to further send "blessings" to classmates, teachers and family members. While expressing gratitude and goodwill, it also deepens interpersonal connections and cultivates responsible decision-making capabilities and positive interpersonal relationships. Allow students to develop creative thinking through artistic practice, learn to influence the world through beauty and action, and let art become a bridge of communication, a boost to growth, and a force for care and connection.
