[Course Highlights] Tainan City Xinhua High School─Life Story Museum: Expression and Curation

[Visual ArtsXChineseXEnglishXGeography]

Our school interacts closely with Japan's Tomioka Nishi University, and they visit and exchange with each other every year. Recently, as the international epidemic has not slowed down, the two schools have switched to online and mailing methods for discussion and learning.

Before conducting international exchanges, we hope to introduce the concept of "curating and planning" through the process of "understanding the local area", and through the courses, we can gradually open up "various angles of the topic", "sensory experience and Expression", and by building a scaffolding of "interview skills" and "use of text and image symbols", in the practical tasks of interviewing and editing, from "observation", "forming opinions" to "raising questions", and finally Produce works (such as story box theme curation or graphic and text issue columns).

Culture is the lifestyle of a group and the sum of the behaviors, attitudes and materials derived from it. By "participating in it", you realize that you are also a part of a shared cultural experience; by listening to others and caring about issues, you can then reflect on your own Value judgment, and through creation, there is more process of trying to understand society and dialogue with oneself.

Inspiration and creativity come from the accumulation of life details. This course hopes to bring students back to the real life scene and savor ordinary but powerful life stories. With the advent of the new curriculum era, we look forward to students' adaptive development and accompany them to "define what they want to be." We hope that students can find their own comfortable and fulfilling posture and role in cross-field cooperation.
