The integration of art concepts, aesthetic elements, and art resources into the teaching of other subjects to activate and assist learning by providing medias, resources, and strategies to create arts-based interdisciplinary aesthetic curriculums.

As an important social and cultural practice, art acts as a mediator between different activities in different disciplines. In the context of the rapidly changing world, the interdisciplinary approach has become a core tenet of educational reform in countries all around the world.

The implementation of the twelve-year basic education system marked an important milestone for educational reform in Taiwan in terms of curriculum development and teachers' teaching and learning. In keeping up with the times and transitioning to a new educational style, educators are now using the arts, more specifically, the creation, appreciation, and performance of art, to inject diversity into different disciplines. Hence, in the field of education, making the arts central to interdisciplinary curriculum promotion efforts adds value to the teaching of all subjects, helps students develop aesthetic competence, and facilitates the acquisition of the core competencies necessary for the future.
